Ok so I was at the laundry mat with my mom today (I''m 16) and we were just minding our business. Then this old guy comes in and gets all pissy because we were "at his table". Mom said we weren't moving, because he was being an ass. (She didn't say that, it's just why). He tells her to shut up and just do it. This is when I got up because no one talks to my mother like that. I tell him he's an old bastard that needs to shut his mouth. He then says to take it outside and I was going to but my mom held me back. A bit of info for you - I am 6'6 and slightly overweight, but that doesn't change the fact that I am a big guy. My mom is only 5'4 so she really had to struggle to hold me back. He left we went back, and later he came back to start more shit. it escalated and he said he would give me a bloody nose and my mom said for him to hut up or she would call that cops. He left but then she called the laundry mat owner, because they are friends. He came, and a police report was filed. Now, my mom had me get the guy's plates, but I saw he was a veteran, because the license plates say. Now I am not sure what to do or feel. On the one hand he was a dick and I would have fought him had it not been for my mom. But on the other, he was just an old veteran who was drunk. I don't know what he saw when he was fighting, and now I feel kind of bad for reacting how I did. I just don't know whether to feel pissed or sorry. Any advice would help.

TL;DR : I got in a verbal almost physical fight with a drunk old guy, a police report was filed, but then i found out he's a veteran. Now I feel bad because I don't know what happened to him over there, but also pissed because he was a dick to my mom.
