I can't get over my ex

Me and my ex were together for almost a year and then we broke up because one night she called me all depressed and she told me she hated me and that she likes my brother and then forgot or pretended to forget about what she said the next day. Well my problem is that even though we broke up a while back I still care about her even though I've had other girlfriends since then. Now she has another boyfriend who she loves and she tells me she wants to be friends but idk if I could do that.
