I was on a plane from China to Canada in 2019 and I can’t for the life of me remember the move I watched. It was about a boy and a girl that met in China (I think?) but she was more wealthy and he was poor so they couldn’t be together and she ended up moving to the states. Later in the movie, she ends up struggling and having a hard life in America and we find out he’s moved up the ranks and has become a very successful business man who’s in the states for work after they bump into each other at the restaurant she works at. They rekindle their relationship and everything seems to be good again. The surprise ending was that he was working in the twin towers on 9/11 and that’s how the movie ends from what I remember. It was so good and I was trying to remember the name with a friend - if anyone had any ideas please let me know!
