My (25f) husband (28m) called me to tell me that his father (54m) got a phone call from the VA saying that someone called in an anonymous tip that he, my FIL, is going to shoot me. My FIL has never liked me. He’s always called me by my husband’s ex’s name and has threatened me multiple times “as a joke”. The first person my FIL thought called in was me. My husband knows I didn’t and would never do such a thing, but he knows that my FIL is going to be hard to prove to that I didn’t. Now I don’t feel comfortable staying at home by myself. My parents want me to stay with them until my FIL calms down, but my husband doesn’t think that anything is going to happen. I don’t know if I stay with my parents, who live an hour away, or stay home where my FIL lives closer to. What do I do?
