Low mileage E46 M3 or a 2017+ M2?
Post Body

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone might have some insight they might be able to share with me regarding a choice Iā€™m trying to make. So I have always wanted an e46 m3, it was my ā€œdream carā€ in high school and I have never stopped thinking about owning one since. I have seen their values skyrocket in the last few years, and it has made me feel like if I ever want one, the sooner the better.

That being said, itā€™s now a 15 year old vehicle, and as such is a little out dated compared to todayā€™s sports cars. So Iā€™ve been thinking of buying a newer m2 in order to get the new amenities and upgraded performance of the last 15 years. However, I feel like I might miss out on the nostalgia factor of the e46. This would be my secondary/weekend vehicle, and I wouldnā€™t be putting much mileage on either choice(although Iā€™d probably end up driving the e46 less to preserve its value better). I know the older car will have more maintenance issues, and I donā€™t mind that. My question is, for people who have driven or owned Both, is the newer bmw a better choice for a fun weekend car? Is the e46 still a fun car on the road compared to todayā€™s standards? Thank you!
