Requirements: <$7K, reliable brand/miles combo. I have neither the skills nor the resources to deal with a fixer-upper or a money pit.

Strong preference: AWD. I live in Minnesota, and occasionally (1-2x per year) find myself making emergency Hwy trips. I have neither the storage space nor the money for snow tires.

Mild preference: Something smaller than a tank-sized SUV. Maneuverability in lower vehicles makes me feel much safer (and is more fun). Relative fuel efficiency would be nice. That said, these mild preferences are far less important to me.

If it helps, despite extensive research, I know remarkably little about cars. Thanks in advance
