First of all, thanks for taking the time to look at this thread.

I'm in the market for a car and don't really know what I'm looking for. The only brand of car that I've ever driven in is Subaru and I'm inclined to purchase a Subaru. However, I don't know if that is the right type of car for me. Specifically, I'm looking at a 2018 Subaru Impreza 5-door. I had a bad car accident three years ago, so I'm really focused on safety because I walked away from the accident with only three bruises--I totaled the car. I also live in Michigan, so I need something that can handle the snow and not make me afraid to drive in the winter.

Is there anything specific that I should know, as a woman, when I'm purchasing a car? Any advice is welcome!
