JDM or SUDM

Hi I’m looking to buy a new car soon I live in Michigan and we have a JDM import dealer in the south west area. Wondering if I should buy something imported or somthing newer made for the American market. I have a daily I plan on keeping that way I always have something to drive and for that reason I think I’m leaning more towards JDM because even if it breaks and I need to wait for a part to be shipped I have another car I can drive. Thanks in advance for any input given!
