Greetings, all!
First, I once owned a 2019 Prius Prime, LOVED IT, lost it during a divorce. I've also owned a 2019 Corolla and a 2020 Rav 4, both ICE.
I'm looking to get rid of my 2016 F150 5.0 partially due to the 14/16MPG and also as I had bad loan APR due to getting it when my credit was poor.
I'm looking at a slightly used Toyota Hybrid, 2019 . I can't decide between the nostalgia of the Prius Prime or the utility of the Rav 4. The Corolla was okay, only including it as it's the most inexpensive option. We are also stuck with a 2022 Jeep Gladiator, so we will have something to tow with/haul stuff into the future (especially due to how much it's depreciated, yikes). Will trade that in a few years.
I can't consider the Rav 4 Prime due to no Openpilot support (DIY driver assistance system) and if going Prius, I'd need to go 2021 for TSS2.0. The Rav 4 Hybrid has TSS2 starting in 2019 (as does the Corolla Hybrid).
Should I go with nostalgia, or something that's a bit more practical? I'm torn.
I also don't know anything about the Camry Hybrid, but I hear it has the best ride quality. I've never been in a regular Prius.
My primary use case would be driving a whole lot of random drives, stop and go, highway. Lots of "idling" with either the heat or aircon on. Reason being, recovering from agoraphobia/driving anxiety after the pandemic and I want to get really good exposure and driving time in. Biggest reason the truck has to go. Aimlessly driving around on the daily kills me in MPG in the F150 (and the Jeep).
I'm also going to stick with whatever I buy for years as I'm tired of playing the car game; got burnt on this Jeep and I'm done, but who could have seen that coming?
