Tall (6'6") with two kids in back. Need a used second car to my partners avalon hybrid for daily/town driving. up to $20k.
Post Body

i currently drive a 07 sequoia with 225k

I do most of the kid driving to school / errands etc. Sequoia getting old and shitty mpg. I'd keep it and park it for when i need to haul our popup camper or need a lot of room/comfort.

I have a 4 year old thats almost into a booster and a 10 year old. I'm 6'6" so legroom for all is important. Also have a 85lb dog thats not allowed in the avalon. so day trips to the mountains/beach with the dog in back would be ideal.

Originally i was looking to go cheap, around $5-10k and was looking at 2015-2016 outbacks/foresters with high mileage (near 180-200k) but am now thinking about going up to $20k and trying to find something with 50-100k that i can rely on for 6 years and potentially handing off to my daughter. I'm in california, primarily shopping in the bay area and north so prices aren't going to be friendly. I dislike 3rd row seating as i feel it sacrifices 2nd row leg room but its not a deal breaker.

NEEDS Gas mileage is important - 25 town, 30 freeway would be cool. adaptive cruise for sure. Safety and reliability, couldn't care how it looks really.

Secondary- Power lift gate and auto dimming headlights would be great.

perfect world: Towing 3000-3500 lets me get rid of my sequoia but i dont see that happening and having good gas mileage.

I'm currently looking at 2016&17 Subaru outback limiteds with around 100k at around $17k private $20k dealer.

Previously i've looked at highlanders and fit ok in them. Not sure what else to consider.
