Thank you all for subscribing to /r/westworld! We're grateful for every single one of you. Let's take a look back at this sub's history:
On the release date of the first episode of Westworld (2 October, 2016) we had less than 3000 subscribers.
By the airing of the season 1 finale, "The Bicameral Mind," that number had increased over 50-fold to over 160,000 subscribers.
Then our growth remained somewhat constant until the release of season 2 on 22 April, 2018. On that date, we had nearly 400,000 subscribers.
Growth during the second season was surprisingly slow, with only about 45,000 more net subscribers by the end.
Until June of 2019 we saw regular growth, reaching over 670,000 subscribers in this month.
After that, we saw severe stagnation; we even lost about 2000 subscribers from that point until the start of season 3.
However, as soon as season 3 arrived we started to see quite rapid growth. At the beginning of March 2020, we had nearly the same number of subscribers as in June 2019. Over the course of this month we gained over 30,000 subscribers, ending March with just over 700,000 (This is around the time I personally joined the mod team!).
Since the start of season 3 our growth hasn't slowed down very much, leading to us reaching one million subscribers today!
