Ford is still alive! That body/host we saw in episode 7 was a duplicate of himself. That's who we saw get shot at the end.
Perhaps he always knew Arnold was right but didn't want to unleash mankind's replacement. But he's old now and he is being forced out of his company, he just said fuck it, and let them be free to do as they please, watching from the shadows as he ages towards his death.
Thought to be dead. Watching everything. Able to control still if he pleases. A god.
