Boeing Quality Issues
Post Body

I recognize the argument “look at how many planes fly every day without issues” does have a lot validity however it does not apply to the newer aircraft with potentially serious quality issues. Aircraft constructed in the 60’s and 70’s didn’t start ripping apart mid flight until the 80’s right? In regards to stress fatigue I mean, something not well understood at the time. Just FYI that I get my perspective from watching pretty much every Mayday ever broadcast.

In particular regarding these latest Boeing quality concerns are the reports of gross unprofessionalism (assemblers smoking weed on breaks) and most concerning the recent report about how fuselage joints are not “zero strain” connections but rather they had to be forced into alignment prior to being joined as well as the failure to complete required inspections to ensure adequate bonding of wings to fuselage. As a person who executes quality control in Oil and Gas piping construction I find this extremely concerning. These types of failures may go 5, 10, 15 years before they result in catastrophic failure.

I flew the Dreamliner in April and although I was in business class I can’t say I was exactly “comfortable”.

I think it is just a matter of time before the newer versions of this aircraft begin to reveal themselves as lemons.

Pure opinion and speculation obviously.
