Nothing spells out how society is build around weight GAIN like a children's birthday party! I restricted myself to a single small piece of pizza and a small piece of cake while constantly having people telling me that there was plenty and I could have more. Also, managed to avoid soda - the only beverage option.
And I got through it without the scale knowing I was ever there!
But I left with some things to think about:
How do I have healthy foods for my children's parties without being "that mom"?
When you tell your kid they can't have cake unless they finish their pizza, are you teaching them anything worthwhile?
