Edibles Question

So I enjoy trail running. I enjoy doing it when high but don’t like smoking right before/during my run. Ive never had much luck feeling the effects of edibles but want to try make some brownies/cookies myself. Is there a type of strain that is extra strong but that won’t make me feel tired that I should use to bake? It’s legal for me to procure so while I might not have access to a particular strain, I will have a selection from which to choose.
Can anyone provide insight?
