Heart racing like crazy after I smoke

I've been smoking regularly for 10 years, and I'm talking daily use,all day every day, and here recently every time I smoke my heart pounds like crazy, it's super uncomfortable and has only been happening for maybe 2 weeks to a month, and has caused me to all but stop smoking entirely. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else/how they stopped their heart racing.
