So in typical stoner fashion my partner and I are planning a trip to Europe in September and our first stop is Amsterdam, we will be there for a few days and have rented a hotel with a balcony in the city.
I live in Canada and weed has been legal here for awhile so i am used to openly smoking wherever and whenever. Obviously there is a ton of weed culture in Amsterdam but what’s the etiquette?? I’ve heard smoking out in public is frowned upon, is this true?? Are you mainly supposed to smoke in the coffee shops/private residence?
I usually smoke before I go to sleep so I was hoping I’d be able to smoke on the balcony in the evening. Our hotel is non-smoking of course so I am concerned we would get in trouble or possibly have to pay a fee. Has this happened to any of you? Or do they tend to just not give a damn as long as you aren’t smoking inside?
I’m not sure if I’m overthinking all of this and they just wouldn’t care at all, but I’d appreciate any and all advice!
