What are your go-to lenses on a wedding day?

I am starting out in the wedding industry and can only afford to make a large purchase, such as a nice lens, every once and a while. I usually rent my gear but it would be great to have a decent lens to mess around with in my free time. I know the usual 24mm, 50mm, 85mm, 70-200mm etc... but what are you all using on a daily basis? Are there some lenses you have but rarely use?

Also bonus question: can you really tell the difference between a f1.4 and f1.8? I am debating picking up the Sony 85 f1.4 but for around $800 less I can get the f1.8. Any help/advice/comments would be greatly appreciated!
