I finally went to David's Bridal with my bestie today and got to try on dresses.
I really enjoyed my consultant, she got the vibe I was going for, and the kind of dress that would work. She asked me a few questions, about our venue and if I liked certain things about dresses. Her first pick for me is one that I had pinned from David's a long time ago. Unfortunately, that means she skipped over my request to try on all the different silhouettes. I really wanted to try on a mermaid/trumpet dress. I'm 90% sure I don't actually want one, but I've never worn one.
The consultant was training someone I think? There was another employee sort of helping/following/sometimes getting brief lessons. Also, she was split between me and another bride who was in a room diagonal to us. The other bride seemed further along in the process since she picked a dress. I don't know if that's common in non-pandemic times to have one consultant working with multiple brides, or we were just unlucky with timing. It also meant that bestie ended up doing the majority of the work helping me in and out of dresses, and we forgot to take pictures of any of the dresses except the only one that's still in the running.
Of the dresses six or seven dresses I tried, I didn't love any of them. I did think that they were helpful in figuring out what I didn't want, and nothing was really really off. There were elements of all of them that I liked, but they was nothing that made me want to take out my wallet.
Otherwise, not much else to say. People seemed to be doing their best to distance, and everyone was wearing a mask. The chairs were disinfected from the previous appointment. One of the managers? came around to remind people to stay distanced from one another. I got a bag of coupon stuff.
