This might sound like a silly question to some, but I know personally I have a pretty defined stylistic preference but it's relatively varied in most people's eyes and could go in a couple different directions. More importantly, I'm also rather unsure of what he wants, and think presenting different concepts to him (via Pinterest... boards that showcase different aspects of a wedding all related by aesthetic vibe/color palette) will be the best way to get his gears turning about what he wants it to look like, and feel like!
I think no matter how many colors we use or how monochromatic we go, our color(s) will be very saturated and vibrant. We are not down with muted colors. I can see us going with one or two accent colors used pretty liberally along a few neutrals (e.g. hot pink, gold ivory and bright navy) and going with a more luxurious decadent maximal twinkly vibe with sweet vintage, ornate accents. I can also see us going with 3 or more accent colors and one or two neutrals (e.g. coral turquoise parakeet fushia, ivory and bright navy) and going kind of loud festive uninhibited with a wild saucy boho vibe. In a perfect world, I'd be able to mix both vibes seamlessly but that's rather extra, and I'm honestly not sure which one will be easier to execute and which one will be surprisingly more expensive. I'd like to keep our floral budget in check, and do lots of *simple* DIY that won't take much time to prepare, or time for the DOC to set up.
I know picking venue is KEY for realizing the vibe, but we also have a few venues in mind that we might let influence the vibe we want to go for. It seems like a very common approach is deciding on vibe before venue? Is that the recommended practice in general, broad sense? I can honestly see us scouting venues, finding one that offers the best total package that we fall in love with visually and in a practical day of sense, and making decisions around that.
I'd love to look at your boards, hear your ideas, and see your pictures! Tell me everything about how you planned your wedding aesthetic!
EDIT TO ADD: Here is my board so far :) Pretty loose concept, the centerpieces for me are the most demonstrative of wedding theme ideas. I'm saving both the two vibes I can picture, as well as general layout/item ideas. Feel free to creep around my whole Pinterest if you fancy giving specific advice!
