My SO and I are getting married in a year. We are both atheist and I want the wedding to mimic a traditional wedding format, but no religious aspect at all. SO is wanting to have a non-denominational church wedding so that Grand parents and other family don't flip out about it. I want zero religion and zero church. So we are working on a compromise. Has anyone had a successful Atheist wedding and what did you do for the ceremony? Was it in church or not? What was the service? How did family take it? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
