Bah.
I almost don't wanna post this bc I feel like speaking it makes it real, if that makes sense. But I am sad about how my reception turned out.
We were engaged almost a year and were married on 12/13/14. The day before and the day of were fine. No family drama, no crappy vendors. Everything was working out so well. We even started on time. My day of coordinator was ah-mazing. The ceremony was beautiful.
We got to the reception site and thats when things started to get disappointing. We had 102 RSVP. I noticed several tables that were less then 1/2 full. Like completely empty minus 1 couple at each. I had people who I KNEW (in the back of my head) weren't going to come making a big deal out being there, but then of course they were NOT there. Ok whatever...moving along.
We ate, we started to mingle. Then had the first dances, and opened the dance floor. Yay. Great.
But then people started leaving. And pretty much 3/4 of our guests were gone before 9. Our send off had to be bumped up bc there was no one left. After our mock sparkler send off, we headed back inside, had our last (and only 2nd) dance and left for our hotel room. I tried not to be upset. I got about 3 days in and it started nagging at me. We paid so much money and had 3 more hours planned and paid for. I had activities for the kids, an open bar, a great DJ. I feel stupid that the people from work saw a lame party. I feel disappointed that I didn't get to have the party I wanted. I am trying to focus on the good. But I just needed to get it out there.
My HUSBAND feels the same as me, but we are both so happy to be married to each other and glad there was no drama. Plus our honeymoon is going great. I just hope our photos are great, and show us having a good time.
Thank you for letting me get that out. I'm sorry for being a bummer.
