At the end of last year we asked our wedding party to stand up in our wedding. One of the bridesmaids is my daughter. Said daughter is now pregnant and she is due just a couple weeks after our wedding. The problem here is that she lives 6 hours away. Now because of this timeline, there is no way the doctor is going to want her to drive 6 hours away so close to her due date, no does my fiancé nor I feel comfortable with this.
It breaks our heart, but we feel like we need to find a replacement for her. The problem is we can't think of a way to convey this without it seeming like we are kicking her out of the wedding party because she is pregnant, which is absolutey not the case. If she lived closer, there wouldn't be an issue (aside from if she went in to labor right around the wedding date).
Has anyone had to deal with a situation like this previously? Are we wrong for wanting to make the change before it's to late? Help! Any advice is appreciated here.
