Hello! I was hoping to get third-party opinions about my top contenders. I felt beautiful and comfortable in all these dresses, and there was something that clicked about each of them, which is making the decision hard! I’m also a big overthinker so it’s hard to go off of a gut feeling or emotional response.
Wedding will be late spring at a museum and reception at a nice restaurant, just dinner party vibes, so I don’t need to factor in dancing or vigorous movement in my decision. I also don’t necessarily need the dress to match the venue; I just want to choose the best one!
Dress 1 - Pros: This dress is a work of art. Love the draping, dramatic train and ethereal vibe. Cons: Wasn’t sure if the rosette would look right from all different angles. Also I’m not too fussed about if I will love my dress in 10 years, but I would still like to look back in ~5 years and not say “what was I thinking?” Note: Comes with one off-the-shoulder sleeve, but I would wrap it around the back to keep the dress completely strapless.
Dress 2 - Pros: Love how dreamy this dress is. My favorite feature is the off-the-shoulder sleeves which add some soft drama while still having a classic silhouette. Love the focus on the collarbone. Cons: Dress and overskirt are sold separately, but don’t think I would want to wear the dress alone without. Adding the price of the overskirt is above what I had wanted to spend on my dress, however it still fits in my total budget. The dress is pretty important to me, so I would be down to go for it if the dress is worth it! Note: Sleeves would be slightly closer to my body as seen in the photo with the stylist holding the sleeve.
Dress 3 - Pros: So sleek and minimal but with interest in its texture. Option of an overskirt, but I was surprised how much I liked the dress on its own as well, even though I was looking for an a-line. Cons: Same as dress 2, adding the price of the overskirt is above what I wanted to spend, but would be down if the look is worth it. Note: Matching organza gloves (sold separately), but not sure if I would go for them.
Dress 4 - Pros: Love a clean classic bridal look. Love the subtle peaks of the neckline. Cons: I wonder if I would miss the ethereal aspect? However, a veil would add some dreamy texture. I think some people might think I would go for something slightly more unique, but I also have always loved a clean satin gown. Note: I would probably not do the bow at all.
Dress 5 - Pros: Again love a clean bridal look, and I kinda like the matte “papery” vibe. Love the slight drop waist. Cons: Wonder if that “papery” texture has less movement and more buckling of the fabric Note: Comes with puff sleeves, but probably would not do the sleeves.
Thank you!
One or four
I didn't even want to scroll past #1. It's so unique and gorgeous.
