Feeling unsure about my dress - I really like it but does it suit me? (see caption for info)

Post Body

I picked my dress back in May and it’s now on order, due to arrive around December. I really loved this dress when I tried it on and it really felt like ‘the one’. However I’m not a girl that ever wears dresses or skirts in normal life, and it’s so strange looking at photos from my fittings.

I have naturally broad shoulders and an undefined waistline. I’m also quite athletic and enjoy going to the gym. What I think isn’t helping is that my parents keep warning me to ‘stop lifting weights’ because they are worried I won’t fit in my dress when it arrives. It was the perfect size for me and fit like a glove when I tried on the sample in the boutique.

Perhaps comments like this from others and me being too self-critical is making me think that something isn’t right. I have also never seen anyone else wearing this dress on this sub, or anywhere else actually. Do you think the dress suits me? Did I make the right decision?
