My fiance wants to “feel like he won against the wedding industrial complex”
He wants me to have the wedding of my dreams and he also wants to “feel like he won against the wedding industrial complex”. I just want a fun stress free day and for everyone to think that my fiancé is one damn lucky boy.
This is a bit tongue in cheek because participating at all in the wedding tradition makes is probably a loss against the “wedding industrial complex”, but I was wondering, what were the things you guys did or heard about for your wedding that really made you feel like you “won”?
Had my wedding in Italy at an amazing venue on a cliff over looking Naples bay with Mt Vesuvius in the background and paid 12k for 25 guests 3 course dinner, cake, dj, and photographer. Suck on the USA prices. 🤣

No. Guests were responsible for their own flights and hotels. Most round trips are around 5-600 and hotels if booked on advance run about $120-150/night. It’s a destination wedding after all. But it was designed to keep away the riff raff and we knew everyone and were dear friends or close family with all guests.
