This comic follows Daniel, the teenage son of a prominent civil rights activist prominent civil rights activist, and plantation owner living under the iron fist of 1930’s- Jim Crow. Tragedy strikes Daniel’s family when one of his kin is accused of breaking one, if not THE most sacred law resulting in a death sentence. Despite properly defending themselves his family is lynched as retribution, and Daniel is burned alive in his own house with some of his family members. In this world, much like our own, going through traumatic ic experiences can have profound changes in one’s brain chemistry. The difference is this alteration can result in the awakening of one’s “Ori”. Ori is the ability to control one’s life energy with their mind; the term “Ori” can also refer to energy, or aura.

Being able to manipulate this autonomous force can increase strength, vitality, healing, and can lead to other potential psychic phenomena. Awakening his “Ori” allowed Daniel to survive this fiery nightmare, escaping certain death. Now armed with newfound power, he embarks on a quest not only for revenge but also to reunite with the surviving member er of his family.
