Daniel survives being burned alive, but doesn’t come unscathed. He’s constantly reminded of his tramua, but he doesn’t let it hold him back when he still has his family counting on him. As a result he’s severely burned on more than half his body, partially blind in one eye, and is in intermittent pain because of the damage the accused. However surviving awakened the ability to manifest his life energy into fire. Fire that carries not only his will but his pain.
