Weber Genesis E300 question

I decided to upgrade to stainless steel. 304 stainless steel that is food grade and non magnetic.
I installed and then today did a heat cycle and the flavor bars with burners changed color badly. This is my first time dealing with stainless so I wanted some advise from maintenance to cooking.
Grill heated up to 500 degrees for 6 minutes only.
