Learning some web development for fun.
I learn best by having a self directed objective and learning the bits and pieces to deliver it. And then building my knowledge out from the practical skills I've used and understood.
But everything is an unknown unknown atm. So I'd hoping people could tell me what I need to know, what tools I need to be familiar with and what out of the box solutions exist for me to get to grips with to achieve my goal
So: I'd like to make my own personal Featured Games carousel.
The website need me to be able to:
- Tag game genres from steam
- The website then loads all the games it can find that match my selected tags
- I can then tag games as "interested in", "Played" or "Not Interested"
I know I need to be able to make a website wireframe for visual style and will likely need a CMS to pull and store data. And then something to interact with the Steam rest API.
Is there anything else I'm missing?
Not asking for people to solve problems for me. Just to point me in the right direction so that I can be confident that I'll have learned all the things I need to to deliver my personal project
