Hi All!
First post here - I was wondering what's your go-to service or methodology for reliable cross-device browser-based testing of web applications?
I need to do testing of a website I'm working on and I think I can do more than the tools/techniques I've used so far...
- Chrome Web Tools responsive testing tools but I'm not sure how much those differ from physical devices.
- Google Lighthouse Audit functionality for performance testing.
- Running my site on my localhost across my Pixel 3 (and on a hosted dev site)
But I have no apple products, no tablets, and am fairly limited on what android phones I have lying around. Below are some services/methods I was considering and was wondering if anyone's had any good or bad experiences with them?
- BrowserStack looks nice, but seems like it gets pricey very quickly and I'm on a limited budget.
- Kobiton or Sauceables or seems like a less pricey BrowserStack?
- Finding someone on Upwork to do testing(?) - Not sure if this is actually feasible
Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time for any help :)
Edit - changed some wording around...because English
