I'm having a problem with moving a site from a HostGator shared server to a GoDaddy VPS where anchor links (index.php#about) don't work from anywhere but the homepage, once the site is on the new server.
The working site is http://babywearingworldrecord.com/new/ and there are 4 anchor links in the nav, which all go to different portions of the homepage: About, Schedule, Sponsors and Contact. If you go to the "Tickets" or "Media" page, the 4 anchor links all still work to take you back to the homepage and then to the appropriate div.
Since DNS isn't pointed, I just have this line in my hosts file to work on the GoDaddy server:
50.63.188.95 babywearingworldrecord.com
On the new server, the anchor links all work on the homepage but, if you go to the "Tickets" or "Media" page, the anchor links no longer work to go back to a specific section of the homepage. I also just noticed that, while ctrl click or middle-clicking on the links doesn't do anything on the new server, you can right-click and "Open in a new tab" and the new tab will open to the correct position in the homepage.
I've checked the .htaccess files and they're the same on both servers so, I'm starting to think that it's something with Apache/httpd.conf but was wondering if anyone has ever had a similar issue or has any suggestions as to what might be causing this.
