I've noticed a login trend recently of enter your passport first, then you're taken to the next panel/component/page to put in your password. What's behind this?
Post Body

Slack do it, my energy supplier do it. You enter your email, click next, then enter your password. I'm used to username and password input boxes on one screen.

Why are companies using this method from a programatic perspective? In the case of my energy company, I tested it with an email address I own that is not registered with that company, and it still let me through to the password stage.
