I want to buy the premium version of ONE of these, but am unsure which. I have both of the apps on my iPhone and use both of them, but they both have strengths and weaknesses. I'm not a commercial user, but a middle of the road weather-geek that *may* storm chase ever so often.
RadarScope
- I can BUY the software/app in the Microsoft store for like $29.99 and use RadarScope on my laptop and home PC with NO yearly subscription
- I tend to like how it's slightly simpler than RadarOmega in terms of options and functions.
- Only light/dark maps available.
RadarOmega
- Costs $49.99 a year for the lowest tier that will allow me to use it on a laptop or home PC.
- While more feature/option rich, that makes it also more "complicated" because there's just so many options and things you can adjust
- I like the assortment of maps better.
- I like how you can set a reflectivity gate in settings to filter out super low returns.
While RadarOmega is what I would prefer, $50.00 a year for something I can buy ONCE for $29.99 seems a little.. Rich. I DO have GRLevel3 on my PC and laptop, and love it, but it just doesn't seem to be keeping pace with what RadarOmega and RadarScope can do these days.
