I've been having a frustrating experience trying to buy a bookshelf on Wayfair - can't cancel orders - crazy return shipping fees - and what's dawning on me is that Wayfair seems to be just a platform and not actually a direct retailer of anything?
They seem to be like an Amazon - except they don't sell anything of their own - and all of the merchandise is similar to "Amazon Marketplace"
This would seem to explain rapid price fluctuations, the many similar or identical products all with suspiciously different names and prices....I suspect that the 3rd party merchants are hacking and gaming and manipulating the platform constantly, which also happens on Amazon Marketplace sellers, and which is why I on Amazon I always filter out the 3rd party sellers and only buy direct.
As I wait for Bookshelf #2 to arrive, having refused delivery of Bookshelf #1.....I'm realizing I just shouldn't bother with Wayfair for anything important. If Wayfair themselves isn't trying to get over on me somehow, then their 3rd parties are.
