Picked up an absolute steal of a 2080ti (FE) and EKWB Vector Plexi Nickel block from two marketplace sellers. Having issue keeping hotspot and memory junction temps under control however.
New pads, new paste, all done by the book. ~70c core temps, but 107c hotspot and memory.
Drained the loop and pulled the block off, mounting pressure is awful. An oval shape, diagonally.
Have pulled and remounted 4 times, tightening screws to the point of stripping them and adding more paste each time as a 'quick fix'. This obviously doesn't fix the main issue however.
Got 520mm worth of rad on a D5 pump in this rig, so getting the heat out of the water isn't the issue. My 5600x (stock) never breaks 50.
Any suggestions? I had read on a thread somwhere a similar issue with a 3060Ti, and the suggestion was to remove the coil thermal pads as that interferes with mounting pressure. I don't feel comfortable doing that, but has anyone had any success running 0.5mm pads rather than the 1mm suggested in the manual to fix this issue?
I'd like to be able to let this thing have its head with a bit more power limit. As it is I've turned it down to 85% to keep the problem children hovering just under 100c.
Cheers.
