Acronyms are valuable in the digital environment of the interwebs where they are assigned with haphazard haste in the course of the discourse, so I think I understand what Eugen is doing here.
But as an actual title - that is used on store fronts and to market the game - it just sounds weird. "Warning Order" carries weight and has that feeling to it of the cold war going hot. That grey zone just before the outbreak of the war when both sides are monitoring each other and quietly pulls the alarm chain, but no one is certain of who will make the first move. If anyone does at all. It also avoids the obvious and cliche titles these games usually have like "Cold Steel: Operations Europe" or "High Command: Strategy of Conquest". So the title is both relevant and original.
But "WARNO" only makes sense if you know the full title, and even then it isn't much of a title. It does not express what the game is about or invoke anything. The conversations about the game is gonna sound something like this:
"-Hey, there's a new RTS coming out. It's called WARNO!
-What was it called?
-WARNO!
-Wario?
-No, "WARNO"!
-WARHO-what?
-No, just WARNO!
-Wait, say the title again?
-Never mind, forget about it..."
Again, it works as an acronym but nothing else.
