A Skaven science team led by a megalomaniac technomage and a megalomaniac grey seer are scheming to change the world. They have worked for years to bring the greatest boon to the Old World: the moon Morrslieb. Warpstone is a rare mineral that Skaven use to fuel their magic and technology. It's quite rare in the Old World, but Morrslieb is pure warpstone! Imagine the possibilities. A side effect would be the death of 20-30% of life on the continent, but that's a small price to pay for such a boon.

Anyway, they've just discovered that warpstone can make the mineral "floatstone" become anti-gravitational. Now they're about to find a text that details how to reverse this interaction, so that a tractor device of floatstone can be used to attract the warpstone moon.

The long-term mission of the PC is to discover and foil (?) this megalomaniac scheme. So far stuff has happened, but the PC are busy with other stuff. They've just discovered a major Skaven floatstone mine, though.

The campaign started innocently with the players stuck in the wealthy mountain village of Schönberg as a meeting of elders turned into a Slaanesh festival of carnal delights. Faced with becoming deamonette shish kebab, the characters wisely chose to flee into the mountains. The safe, safe mountains filled with vertiguous horrors lumbering around, chewing what they can.

They then escaped into a dwarven stronghold and have help the dwarfs some and also slain the vampire of Frugelhofen in East Brettonia. They're now in the ithilmar mines outside Athel Lorien, having travelled south with a group of prospectors.

Their introduction to the Skaven scheme was a Bret fort being shot up into the sky by a floatstone warpstone reaction.
