Do the Forsaken catch a glimpse of the Shadowlands before being brought back to life?

I'm roleplaying a new character as something to do before Shadowlands Pre-Patch and I'm curious if the undead transition into the shadowlands and then are brought back into their "dead" bodies?
I'm going to use this as head-canon for my character regardless, but I'm curious if it is mentioned anywhere.
