With all the artifact notes released (I'll link it down below) I found something that immediately caught my eye and has my mind reeling from the implications.

Part 4 of The Scepter of Sargeras goes:

"Soon after the War of the Ancients, Sargeras had a vision: the Well of Eternity imploded once again, but this time, it dragged him down to the very core of Azeroth. He was there for only an instant, but in that moment, he saw Azeroth's slumbering world-soul--and in that moment, the world-soul opened one eye and gazed at the Dark Titan. He was enraptured.

Since then, the eye of Azeroth's world-soul has not been far from his thoughts. He commanded the eredar who forged the scepter to crown it with that lone, wondrous orb. Next to it, the eredar placed two nathrezim wings, a testament to Sargeras's conception of the world-soul: corrupted, demonic, and most importantly, his."

The Scepter itself is modeled after a vision he had of this soul. And the final sentence suggests he actually doesn't want to destroy Azeroth at all. He wants to corrupt it, make her "his". This flies in the face of his original intention to simply destroy Azeroth to prevent its corruption by the old gods. Perhaps he's actually trying to save her by making her a fel Titan like him.

Titan couples are not that weird in the lore. Eonar and Aman'thul are supposedly a couple, but she was the only female Titan until Azeroth came along. Could Sargeras be a victim of love at first sight? Will Blizz pull a redemption arc for Sargeras by having Azeroth turn him from fel? This would certainly contribute to his unusual obsession with Azeroth and could open up some potentially interesting stories down the line.
