First of all, I play wc3 for the custom games. I am too slow for rts games. Actually never finished the campaign. This means I can only speak from my perspective as custom maps only player.

Let me go back to 5 years ago: The amount of custom games is pretty much the same as today with one big difference. The playerbase was abysmal. Three modes hosted: Legion TD, moar Legion TD and Castle Fight. You could play other maps, but expect to wait quite some time to fill a lobby (talking up to 2 hours during bad hours).

I came back with reforged: create lobby of anything: find players in less than 30minutes. I don’t expect this to remain the norm but right now it’s awesome!

I also don’t like the new TOS, fuck blizzard for that. On the other had no idea is licensed, so if you want to make island troll tribes as a stand-alone game call it something different (even similar) and don’t steal asset or reuse assets that are in the mod...
