I don't know what or how this slipped testing, but in many maps, turning shadows from High to low will net you a 25% FPS boost. From low to off, in some maps, I was seeing as much as a 400% FPS boost.
As an example, during Chapter 3 of the Human Campaign, in the scene where you find the granary, I was at 35 FPS on maximum settings 1080p. I turned shadows to low, and got 45 fps. With shadows off, I am seeing 220fps.
Something went seriously wrong here. For context I'm running an i5-9600k at 5Ghz and a GTX 1070 OCed to 2Ghz, and this game runs like hot, wet ass.
