I had wanted to post in here earlier about this guy that we had working at our store but never got around to it, so I’ll just tell you the whole story.
So this guy, we’ll call him Kae, worked at Walmart for around 3 years. In the years I’ve worked with him he was always quiet and reserved but good at his job, absolutely amazing in the SCO. Well, fast forward and two of our frontend TLs are planning on moving to another city and there’s a handful of people who want that position, including Kae, who before now has never shown any ambition in anything, was one of those “there’s no growth in this company” type of people.
Suddenly he starts coming out of his shell and talking more to people. It was really great to see him be more involved and wanting to learn more things like the Customer Service desk and such. But what seemed to be great slowly started to become an absolute nightmare.
At first it started with him talking in the SCO and no longer paying attention and doing his job. Then it turned into him leaving his SCO to come check on the other SCO (even though we had someone assigned to check on the sco and do their best to improve it). He also started claiming that he had special privileges (like rebooting the sco machines without permission) because he knew the machines better than NCR did. Then he started going to the bathroom like every hour. And from that point on, I despised him. But my best friend didn’t understand why.
Fast forward again and he’s completely lost his mind. He was banned from the SCO and put on a register where he would constantly leave and purchase things while on the clock. He started saying really weird things like how he would stab people to death if he ever went to England (he was talking to my friend about her bf who lives in the UK) and he would talk about how our store sucked and no one should shop there. He also said how one of our TLs was super hot and how a 17 year old that used to work there was super cute and she was close enough to 18 so it was okay.
We mostly just reported everything to our TL and everyone was quickly becoming more uncomfortable working with him by the day.
Then one day my best friend and I were leaving work. We both got into my car and turned it on and my headlights came on as he was walking by. Out of nowhere he started screaming at us and threateningly pointing at us. We didn’t hear what he said because my radio automatically turned on with my car but we were terrified. We went and told the O/N coach and TLs that were standing outside and they said they’d keep an eye on him. The next day we told our frontend coach and me, my friend and two other associates wrote statements about him and what he said or did.
My friend and I went in to get a couple of things (we were off today) and heard from another coworker that he had gotten fired the day before. We were relieved but at the same time we’re still scared that he’ll come into Walmart with a weapon or something. We’re especially scared because he hated us since we’re close to our closing TL and told them everything.
We’re glad he’s finally gone because it was getting to the point we were gonna go to the store manager about how uncomfortable we were. But we’ll probably still be on edge for a while until we know for sure he’s not a danger to us or anyone else.
