So I’ve seen the posts made in this group about arriving late and that the grace period is supposed to apply too.
For example, you arrive at 10:36 for a 10 am shift. I thought you could use 30 mins of PPTO and the remaining would be approved by a TL or Coach—even if it had to be done manually.
But does this only apply in places with paid sick leave laws? I thought Louisiana was one off those, but now I’m not so sure.
Can anyone please help me so I don’t waste more PPTO or get more points?
Gotcha! That actually makes sense now. Thank you.
I was honestly over trying to use PPTO anyway. It’s more trouble that it’s worth. Why give us something if we’re chastised for using it? I thought we didn’t have to give an excuse when using PPTO? They always ask anyway.
I swear…between my TL yelling my name from 6 rows away, telling me I’m wasting her time, not letting me take my breaks, making us do action codes before and after breaks/lunch because other employees take leisurely breaks and extra lunches… it really makes you wonder why the turnover rate is so high here.
I can’t figure out how to add the screenshot I took, but it says this:
“Paid sick locations are those which are in either the Standard PPTO Plan, Continuous PPTO Plan, Standard PPTO Plan with Kin Care, or Continuous PPTO Plan with Kin Care.”
Wouldn’t it include all of those and not just Kin Care?
When in July did it change and where is this on the website?
I ask because I’ve used PPTO throughout July and into August with the grace period. I’ve not received any points until August 12 when all of a sudden it was an issue. I live in Louisiana, not a pto law state.
No one had to fix the other points because I never got any, when using PPTO grace period to avoid accruing attendance points. The system automatically approved my PPTO request and therefore didn’t add any points.
I get that communication ain’t always great at Walmart, but at what point do they communicate that they’ve changed their policies? Especially when it concerns PPTO and Attendance Points that could cost an associate their job.
My Coach/People lead were definitely not approving points. They don’t even like me, especially the PL.
I periodically take screenshots of my points when I notice something wonky with them. At no point over the last month did any of the days that I used PPTO and the grace period show up as points. Not even temporarily.
That is until August 12. That day forward, I wasn’t able to use the grace period with PPTO anymore.

But how do I find out if I live in a state with paid sick leave laws? Because it says it only applies in those states.
How do I find this chart?
