Is Intel a takeover target now? Would one of the cashed up rivals, or an adjacent player (e.g. MSFT) use the low, low share price to their advantage?
Either a cash deal at a premium to the shareprice, or a swap to company with better shareprice growth prospects.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the cultures circling. It adds capability to an adjacent tech company, or market share to a rival. Anti-trust considerations may inhibit a rival buyer, but given the geopolitical issues with Taiwan etc, there might be a pathway to getting a deal done.
