Americans are fat POSs. They will do anything other than exercise and dieting to be healthy.
The high demand is creating shortages. Healthcare has been great to invest in, as it is a constant need for anyone.
Bariatric surgeries can be covered by insurances because it will save them money in the long run from other costly expenses: orthopedic surgeries, heart disease/cardiovascular surgeries, spinal surgeries, ect..
I can insurances will push more patients onto these drugs to mitigate added expense down the road.
"We have no GLP-1 access in the state of New Hampshire to treat obesity," Finn said. "About 42.5% of America has obesity, and drug companies weren't at all prepared for the demand that was going to happen."
The shortage is expected to ease within a few months, but drug makers admit it could take years before they can increase supply enough to meet demand.
Bullish for drug manufacturers. Also bullish imo for insurance companies. If they can cut down on costlier lifelong expenses of their patients, down the road I can them banking much more revenue and profits.
