Okay, so I'm very new to waifuism and fictosexuality (or whatever you wanna call it) and I'm very confused. I don't have a problem with this, as long as no one is getting hurt obviously, I'm just trying to understand the mindset better.
I have DID, and therefore I'm familiar with the idea of fictives (alters based off of characters in books/tv/movies/etc). So this is obviously not too far out for me to understand. I myself, am a fictive of Bartolomeo from One Piece. I'm in a relationship with another fictive in another system who is Luffy. Is waifuism like that? Like, how real are your f/os to you? Is it like roleplay and using your imagination, or is it like tulpamancy or shifting? Is it like otherkin?
Every time I think I understand, I see a post like, "oh me and (insert character here) went to the mall today!" and I'm just wondering: how do you do that? Or, "my partner said this to me today and it was so cute!" or something like that. Can you hear their voices literally? Or is it just daydreaming?
I swear I'm not trying to troll or be offensive, I'm just autistic, plural, and really confused. If yall could explain your experiences (whatever your comfortable with!) to me to help me understand better, I'd really appreciate it! Have a good day everyone!
