Bolt V2 elevation issue

I bought a Bolt V2 used. It was from a friends teammate so I trust the seller but as soon as I got the computer I did a factory reset, paired to my phone, downloaded local maps and went for a ride. The elevation gain always reads 0 ft, grade always reads 0% and that is on every ride. I've dug though settings trying to find a cause, done a couple more factory resets but can't figure out why this is happening. Previous owner said they never had this issue.
Any ideas?
