All Wacom drivers and software hanging on my macbook pro

I'm stumped. I have a brand-new Intuos pro on my macbook pro, and did a clean delete and reinstall of all wacom software. Now, the Wacom system prefs are hanging when I try to launch them. If I launch the desktop center it hangs. And if I launch the tablet utility to use the uninstaller, that hangs during the uninstall process as well, as soon as I pass the "are you sure you want to completely remove the driver and all its components" dialog.

I'm at a loss. I've whitelisted wacom.com on my firewall, reinstalled and rebooted the laptop over and over again. The mac simply hates the wacom software. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
