So I took a graphics programming class last fall, but unfortunately they taught OpenGL's immediate mode for 95% of the class, and only spent 5% on the core mode. Now that I have more free time, I want to learn a graphics programming API that is more useful in the modern world. Vulkan stands out to me because it is much closer to the hardware, and it seems like it is going to become much more popular in the coming years. However, I am aware that there is a steep learning curve and vulkan is not for beginners. So how hard would it be to make the transition?
